Welcome to Send Files, a service provided by Publishd Pty Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your personal information and data in a manner consistent with privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. The Information We Collect

We collect information to provide you with a fast and secure file transfer service. The information we collect falls into two categories:

  • Information you provide to us: This includes your name, email address, and payment details when you create a paid account. We also collect the content of the files you upload, store, and share through the service. For the sync feature, we store third-party authentication tokens (e.g., OAuth tokens). These tokens are stored in Cloudflare’s encrypted KV storage and are used solely to facilitate transfers you initiate.
  • Technical information: This includes data about your device and network, such as your IP address, browser type, and operating system. We collect this to maintain and improve the security and performance of our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide the Service: We use your data to host, transmit, and manage the files you share, as directed by you.
  • To maintain your account: We use your personal information to manage your account, process payments, and provide customer support.
  • To improve the Service: We may use aggregated and anonymized data to understand how the service is used and to improve its features and functionality.

3. Your Rights Over Your Data

You have the right to access and control your personal information. These rights include:

  • Access: You can request to know what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate information we hold about you.
  • Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information.
  • Opt-out: Under the CCPA, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

4. Data Security and Storage

Files are stored using Server-Side Encryption (SSE) on Backblaze B2, where Publishd Pty Ltd maintains the encryption keys. While we use industry-standard encryption (SFTP/HTTPS), we provide unencrypted FTP for legacy support but strongly advise against its use.

Sub-Processors

‍We use the following third-party services to operate Send-Files:

  • Vultr: Host for SFTP nodes globally.
  • Netcup (USA): Processing for /sync transfers.
  • Hetzner (Germany): Thumbnail generation.
  • Cloudflare: Compute processing and credential storage.
  • Memberstack & Webflow: Membership management and frontend.
  • Stripe: Payment processing.
  • Gmail: Email hosting, initial credential supply, emailing files for the Sync feature.
  • Make.com: Automations involved in user creation and updates

5. International Data Transfers

As a global service, your data may be transferred across borders.

  • UK Users: While your primary storage may be in London, using the sync feature will result in data passing through our US-based processing center (Netcup).
  • Compliance: We utilize Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for transfers from the EU/UK to the US and Australia to ensure a level of protection equivalent to the GDPR. By using the service, you consent to these necessary operational transfers.

As our service operates globally, your information may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of your own. By using our service, you consent to the transfer of your data to Australia and other countries where our service providers operate.

For users in the European Union, we take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your data remains protected in accordance with the GDPR.
